We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Northfield Clinic - Primary Care. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate collection and processing of patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect patient specimens using venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick techniques, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Determine the correct priority for specimen collections, ensuring timely transport and processing of all patient specimens.
- File patient lab reports, requisition charges for the business office, and send reports to outside hospitals and clinics.
- Perform complex specimen set-up, enter complex orders and results, and pack and ship infectious materials.
- Clean and maintain equipment, centrifuges, and refrigerators, and record daily temperatures of all refrigerators in the phlebotomy areas.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification from a recognized phlebotomy organization, such as RPT, AMT, or ASCP, is required.
- Preferred: Six months of laboratory experience.
This role requires regular attendance and the ability to interact with patients, patients' family, patient care providers, and others. The employee must be able to verbally communicate information and understand spoken information. The role also requires the ability to operate complex and delicate lab equipment, move fingers, and read lab equipment, labels, monitors, and while transporting phlebotomy equipment.
