Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient vital signs and implement orders for diagnostic lab tests according to site policy and industry standards.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and assist the RN or LVN as needed in the medical unit within scope of practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and document health-related encounters for patients in SOAP format.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is required, along with a high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably correctional healthcare.
  • Maintains BCLS certification and can exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
