The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our Retail Team at the Point Loma Thrift Store. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive shopping and donor experience, while contributing to the success of our Adult Rehabilitation Program.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and organized donation area, including the trailer and surrounding space.
- Assist donors in the receipt of donated items and provide accurate documentation.
- Separate and sort donated materials into designated containers and stack them according to instructions.
- Collaborate with TSA PA/Drivers to load donations onto trucks as needed.
- Inform supervisors of necessary items prior to running out.
- Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Pass a background check, including a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
- Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills to interact with management, colleagues, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
Our stores operate 7 days a week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
