Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology department, you will be responsible for performing routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate advanced imaging equipment and apply ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Position patients according to departmental procedures and provide for their comfort during procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, utilizing image-guided surgical procedures, sterile technique, and radiographic technique.
  • Operate laser imagers, radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment, and image processors to obtain high-quality radiographic images.
  • Provide radiation protection and select accurate technical factors for individual patients.
  • Assist physicians with specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures, including the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs).
  • Respond effectively to patient care emergencies and utilize universal precautions when working with patients.
  • Prep and maintain a sterile field, troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems, and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Record and accumulate patient statistics, complete records accurately, and enter data into the Radiology Information (RIS) system.
Requirements
  • Recent (within the last twelve months) minimum three years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist, including one year recent experience in Interventional Radiology (IR).
  • Graduation from an accredited, ARRT eligible educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography, Vascular Interventional Radiography, or Cardiac Interventional Radiography.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) and Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology or Vascular Interventional Radiology, or Cardiac Interventional Radiology.
  • Ability to operate all radiology equipment, including radiographic machines, radiographic/fluoroscopic machines, and image processors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
