Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Services Technician to join our team at Stella Maris. As a Medical Services Technician, you will play a vital role in providing technical services to our Medical Services Department. Your primary responsibilities will include scheduling and performing phlebotomy services, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all pre-admission testing and documentation is complete for residents being prepared for surgery or hospital admission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and perform phlebotomy services for residents of Stella Maris, St. Elizabeth Hall, and private patients following facility policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all tests and distribute reports to units and doctors.
• Ensure all pre-admission testing and documentation is complete for residents being prepared for surgery or hospital admission.
• Function as liaison with lab to assure accurate and complete laboratory services.
• Schedule and perform all EKGs; distribute all department reports in a timely fashion and maintain related records accurately.
• Function as dental technician by assisting at chairside, sterilizing supplies, and transporting patients if needed.
• Schedule and set up clinics and function as medical technician for consulting physicians in a knowledgeable and efficient manner.
• Maintain department and equipment in clean, sanitary working order, assuring adequate supplies and proper equipment sterilization.
• Enter insurance information into computer for private, Mercy Ridge and St. Elizabeth Hall patients. Retrieve lab information if needed in a timely manner.
• Support office functions including new hire screenings and documentation.
• Support clinics as time permits such as flu vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine, etc.

Requirements:

• Phlebotomy Certification
• 1 Year of Experience
