Status: Permanent Full Time

Award: Annual Salary / $61,800

Purpose of the Role:

To effectively manage the provision of materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services. Lead the warehouse employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:Staffing Responsibility:

Maintain and train staff as needed.

Liaises with:

Business managers, internal/external business providers and staff.

Oversee Warehouse Processes:
  • Continually measure performance and take appropriate action to maintain Amazing Magnets' standards.
  • Continually verify the receiving of all products into the inventory management system.
  • Complete quality control checks on all newly received products by weighing, testing, and checking that they correlate to the accompanying delivery documents, and product specifications.
  • Ensure that received goods are stored in their correct storage areas and in accordance with their item and batch numbers.
  • Verify the stocking of product according to product type, placing the product in the designated area and accurately labeling of all products.
  • Ensure administrative and customer guidelines are followed for product picking.
  • Verify the correct packaging and shipping of materials.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education and Development:
  • Continuously develop the Warehouse staff through the creation of work instructions and training opportunities.
  • Continually work to find creative ways to motivate and reward the staff by working harder.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by (but not limited to) attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Empower employees to make two-second improvements.
Productivity:
  • Utilize current technology to improve efficiency.
  • Increase productivity by removing time delays.
  • Innovate new metrics to monitor productivity.
  • Measure utilization and efficiency through activity sampling.
  • Create exciting ways to involve warehouse assistants in increasing productivity.
Budget/Planning:
  • Meet with Operations Manager to develop and maintain a warehouse budget.
  • Continually prepare and deliver a period-based budget report outlining profit and loss for the department.
  • Maintain up-to-date budgeting records.
  • Plan to verify what packaging and shipping materials will be needed for the coming week.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
