Job Title: Polysomnography Tech

At Omaha Children's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnography Tech to join our team. As a Polysomnography Tech, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders and direct patient care in the Sleep Disorders Lab.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Gather and analyze patient information, implement patient/caregiver education, and communicate with physicians as appropriate.
  • Testing Preparation: Prepare and calibrate equipment, apply electrodes and sensors, and perform physiologic calibrations.
  • Polysomnographic Procedures: Perform sleep studies, monitor study-tracing quality, and document routine observations.
  • Record Review: Identify sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center-specific protocols.
  • Service Management: Knowledge of risk management and safety precautions, accurate charging, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Patient care experience preferred.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of the Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) within 1 year of hire.
