Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Transplant Team as a Per Diem Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical assistance and support in treating and managing the pre and post-transplant care of transplant patients.
- Act as a key member of the multidisciplinary transplant teams, solving complex clinical problems and communicating directly with attending physicians.
- Consult and liaison for patients and their families with attending physicians, house staff, social workers, financial and administrative staff, and community physicians.
- Provide teaching to patients, staff, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with attending physicians on admissions, discharges, and outpatient care.
- Work closely with administrative team to fulfill QA and regulatory requirements.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- RN license issued by the State of California.
- BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
- Must have a minimum of three years of recent acute or ambulatory care nursing experience.
- Recent experience caring for solid organ transplant patients on a nursing floor or outpatient unit that specializes in caring for this patient population.
- Must have proven independent thinking, decision making, problem solving, and prioritizing skills.
- Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- BSN or BSN in progress.
- Critical Care, Step-down, or Emergency Department experience.
- Cardiac, Pulmonology, Renal, or Hepatology nursing experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $170,485 - $170,485 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $81.65
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
