Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, pain clinic, GI lab, urology, and c-arm procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiologic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, providing patient radiation protection and safety.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist and communicate with Radiologists, working independently outside the department with providers.
  • Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system and documenting billing codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, facilitating clinical problem-solving and collaboration with other departments.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in radiology positioning and techniques, aseptic techniques, and C-arm.
  • Advanced knowledge of radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Knowledge of specialty physician protocols and ability to work effectively with diverse providers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and intermediate computer skills.
