Key Responsibilities- Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults.
- Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology specific to the state of employment.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) with completed graduate coursework and a clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
- Current CPR certification.
- Preferred: One (1+) year of experience in speech pathology.
