Automotive Painter

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Painter to join our team at CarMax. As an Automotive Painter, you will be responsible for applying paint to vehicles, ensuring a high-quality finish and adhering to CarMax's strict standards.

• Apply paint to vehicles using various techniques and equipment
• Ensure paint is applied evenly and meets CarMax's quality standards
• Perform minor repairs, sanding, and grinding as needed
• Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities with the team
• Execute standardized work as defined by CarMax
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired, and cleaned as required
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers

• Accountable to Associate 1 Competency Model
• Kronos Training for Hourly Associates
• Meet Reconditioning Associate, Reconditioning Associate I, Reconditioning Associate II, Senior Reconditioning Associate, and Senior Reconditioning Associate I Performance Standards
• Successfully complete Reconditioning Associate, Reconditioning Associate I, Reconditioning Associate II, Senior Reconditioning Associate, Senior Reconditioning Associate I, and II Workstation Certifications
• Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records
• Discern appropriate paint colors for painting and reconditioning vehicles to meet CarMax standards
• Perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
• Speak and listen effectively in dealing with customers/associates, both in person and over the phone

This role requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment, which may include working in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions. Adherence to all CarMax policies, including Time and Attendance Policy, Asset Protection, Culture of Integrity, and Standards of Professional Appearance, is required. Follow all government regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards, and requires walking or standing for an extended period.
