Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at the City of Minneapolis. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating electrical systems and equipment in accordance with Federal, State, and City Codes and Ordinances.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and test electrical systems and equipment (i.e., generators, motors, UPS's, control systems, PLC's, power and lighting systems, etc.)
Plan, prepare layouts, and perform electrical work to meet facility standards
Responsible for maintaining the fiber optic network and structured wiring for all IT, security, and access systems
Perform programming and maintenance of motor protection relays, variable frequency drives, power monitors, and similar devices
Install interior and exterior wiring

Working Conditions:
Exposure to high voltage
Exposure to all weather elements and environments

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
One year of experience as a Licensed Electrician including industrial wiring
Minnesota Class 'A' Journeyman Electrician License
Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of a two-year electrical program from an accredited trade school or the Minneapolis Electrical JATC program
