Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN) to join our team at Flowers Hospital. As a Travel LPN, you will be responsible for providing delegated aspects of direct patient care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Patient Care: The LPN/LVN will hold shift accountability for providing delegated aspects of direct patient care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Make Decisions Based on Education and Experience: The LPN/LVN is responsible for making decisions based on education, experience, State Board of Nursing Rules and hospital/departmental policy and procedures.
  • Critical Thinking and Leadership: The LPN/LVN demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care.
  • Maintain Clinical Competencies: Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education.
  • Delegate Patient Care Priorities: Delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available.
  • Provide Direction and Supervision: Provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
  • Aspects of Care: Aspects of care may include physical examination and data collection, ADLs, education, medication administration, peripheral IV therapy, discharge planning, implementation of physician's orders and documentation.
Requirements
  • BLS Certification: BLS certification.
  • NIHSS Certification: NIHSS certification required PRIOR TO START.
  • IV Certification: IV certification - can be general.

  • Nights 7P-7A: NIGHTS 7P-7A - 48 GTH.
  • Start ASAP: START ASAP.

  • Travel Requirements: Travelers must be greater than 50 miles from the facility.
