**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team at Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for providing individualized and appropriate education for students with speech and language disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student, in accordance with Federal and State Regulations.
- Assess and Treat Speech and Language Disorders: Conduct assessments to identify speech and language disorders, and develop and implement treatment plans to address these disorders.
- Collaborate with Teachers and Staff: Work closely with teachers and staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.
- Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on the use of assistive technology and other strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.
- Communicate with Parents and Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and to involve them in the educational process.
- Stay Current with Best Practices: Stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field, and Pennsylvania certification in Speech and Language Pathology.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, and experience working with students with diverse needs.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, and communicate effectively.
- Travel: Ability to travel to and from assigned work locations without employer support.
Authority and Accountability:
- Authority: The Speech Therapist will have the authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Accountability: The Speech Therapist will be accountable for providing high-quality services to students, and for maintaining accurate records and reports.
