Job Summary:

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to perform training, competency assessment, and regulatory oversight for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived and moderate-complexity testing. This role supports system activity and requires a strong background in laboratory science and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical consulting services to oversee waived and moderate-complexity testing procedures as defined by CLIA.
  • Maintain CLIA licensure and inspection readiness for each laboratory location.
  • Develop and implement education, training, and competency assessment programs for laboratory staff.
  • Assist with instrument and testing issues at each laboratory location, recognizing and resolving testing problems.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Technologist in Chemistry, Technologist in Hematology, Technologist in Microbiology, or Technologist in Molecular Biology by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
  • 2 years of experience in non-waived testing.
