Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional support to teachers by covering their classes and delivering instruction as outlined in their plans.
  • Collect and save student work to return to the absent teacher.
  • Communicate with parents when necessary, for positive and critical feedback.
  • Support timely transitions by monitoring students in the hallways and walking classes to and from lunch/recess.
  • On days when the Coverage Specialist is not covering, observe in classrooms, attend planning meetings, attend content meetings, plan with mentor teachers, and monitor halls.

Requirements:

  • 30 college credits; Associate's degree or experience equivalent.
  • Ability to create strong relationships with students and families.
  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to KIPP Baltimore's mission and growth.
  • Professional demeanor, strong self-confidence, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive, with strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptionally organized and high energy, with a good sense of humor.
