To ensure your success from the outset,

  • We provide a *wellness week of paid time off after your initial 90 days, allowing you to recharge with 30-40 hours of additional PTO based on your schedule.

What to expect as a Surgical Veterinary Assistant:

Your role will focus on team and patient care, as well as supporting pet families. Daily responsibilities include patient handling, preparing animals for surgery, sterilizing surgical instruments, and restocking supplies.

You will encounter diverse cases and have access to resources that promote optimal patient outcomes.

  • Schedule: The surgical team operates on a 3/12 hour shift basis, including rotating weekend shifts. (Weekday shifts may vary, but schedules are confirmed in advance and organized quarterly.)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in an emergency or specialty environment
  • Familiarity with veterinary workflows and procedures
  • Knowledge of Fear-Free techniques is preferred
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Interest in collaborating with teams across the organization

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to quickly assess and respond to urgent medical situations
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods with limited breaks
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
