HealthCare Support is currently seeking a dedicated Order Entry Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate processing of medication orders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently triage, interpret, and input medication orders into the computerized order management system while adhering to accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
- Conduct audits of entered data against documentation, making necessary corrections to maintain integrity.
- Perform essential drug calculations, including basic mathematical conversions.
- Address issues related to claim denials identified during adjudication and manage follow-up claims in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Stay updated on Medicaid claim regulations and processes to ensure compliance.
- Generate reports and keep management informed about outstanding claims and those requiring follow-up.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, aligning with company values.
- Assist with medication preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned, which may involve supporting various areas within the pharmacy as directed by management.
Work Schedule:
This position typically requires availability Monday through Friday, with alternating weekends. Shifts are 8 hours long, scheduled between 3:30 PM and 12 AM.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a pharmacy-related role.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceuticals, medication terminology, and the metric system.
- Proficiency in computer operations.
Licenses/Certifications:
Must possess any required certifications as mandated by state regulations, specifically in Massachusetts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Order Entry Technician in a specialty pharmacy environment.
