Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Sentara provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP). This role requires professional and clinical knowledge relative to designated clinical practice settings, adhering to the level of verified competency dictated by the site-specific program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care, adhering to the level of verified competency dictated by the site-specific program.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and communicate effectively with other licensed independent practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA) in collaboration while providing care and treatment for patients.
  • Provide clinical support and teaching for patient and family members.
  • Maintain all certifications and licensure relevant to clinical practice settings.

Requirements:

  • LPN License
  • Nursing/Nursing Trade School Diploma
  • American Health Associate BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Experience:

  • 18 months prior LPN work experience
