Job Title: Sr. Cost Accountant

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in revenue recognition, internal control processes, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and report variances generated from inventory purchases and usage, working closely with operations to understand and report the cause of variances.
  • Reconcile inventory subledger to the general ledger monthly.
  • Review and recommend COGS adjustment as needed on company-owned inventory.
  • Prepare period cost reserve analysis, E&O reserve analysis, and related journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
  • Perform quarterly physical inventory counts and coordinate counts observation by external audit firm.
  • Support preparation and submission of quarterly and annual audit and tax packs.
  • Prepare quarterly variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet.
  • Lead activities in the preparation of quarterly and annual surveys.
  • Review and analyze unbilled receivables.
  • Assist in special projects to improve overall efficiency, eliminate process waste, and improve company profitability.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of GAAP and corporate guidelines as they apply to accounting transactions.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and reports.
  • Familiarity with Gov't accounting, FAR and CAS regulations a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field with 10 years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility over time.
  • Experience with Government Accounting.
  • Experience using Deltek CostPoint, TM1, and OneStream a plus.
