Job Summary

This role involves calling on prospective customers from a list provided by the company, with potential deliveries of parts as needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Answer customer phone calls and fulfill orders from inventory
  2. Access parts information from the computer, check availability, pricing, and substitutions
  3. Be familiar with quality improvement bulletins, service bulletins, and vehicle updates or modifications to advise customers of parts replacement needs
  4. Stock necessary parts on and off outside vans and pickups
  5. Check available credit on customers' accounts before delivering any parts
  6. Collect payment from customers who are past due
  7. Accept payment from cash or C.O.D. customers at the time of delivery
  8. Examine returned parts or cores for defects before issuing credit
  9. Issue credit for cores or returned parts immediately after examining for defects
  10. Research customers' accounts for proper invoicing to issue credit for returned parts or cores
  11. Research potential new customers for parts sales
  12. Fill out proper paperwork for any part covered under warranty
  13. Keep vehicles clean, presentable, and fully maintained
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; minimum 2 years of experience with heavy-duty truck parts and automotive parts
  • Ability to read and write English, interact successfully with customers and coworkers, and maintain a clean driving record
  • Mental flexibility to handle stressful situations
Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
