Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Audio/Video Installation Technician to join our team at Phoenix Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and activating security systems, surround sound systems, and other custom electronics for our high-end clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, and system components.
  • Identify and repair security system malfunctions and false alarms.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing wiring installed for Phone/Data/Intercom/Security/WAP's/Basic Audio/Cameras/etc.
  • Learn and understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (2Gig, DSC, QOLSYS, Etc.).
  • Handle installation of networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR's, Network Components, WAP's, etc.
  • Learn and understand monitoring protocol with Phoenix/Monitoring Station/Primary Responders for alarms.
  • Communicate with customers to review work orders.
  • Provide instruction/training to customers/end user on the system functions and operations.
  • Accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components.
  • Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis).
  • Communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers.
  • Install, setup and train homeowners on AV component packages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Security/AV Installations required.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements.
  • Understand cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening.
  • Clear MVR required.
  • Technical or Vocational related schooling is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Active construction sites.
  • Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust.
  • Moderate noise.

Salary

Starting between $22 to $28 per hour.
