CT Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at EvergreenHealth. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for applying prescribed ionizing radiation in performing CT procedures at a technical level for diagnostic purposes under the prescription of a physician.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Complex CT Scan Examinations: Conduct complex CT scan examinations and procedures, including injecting contrast material under the direct supervision of a Radiologist.
- Operate CT Scanner Equipment: Set, adjust, and control the CT scanner equipment to apply ionizing radiation for CT procedures. Measure and select proper electronics and technical factors such as kilovolts, milliamperes, slices, and exposure time.
- Analyze Patient Information: Analyze patient's general body size, physical condition, and age to accurately perform CT examinations.
- Communicate with Patients: Communicate to patients constantly, in lay language, describing the procedure, what the patient can expect from the procedure, and the status of the procedure, always maintaining patient's confidence.
- Handle Administrative Tasks: Handle incoming and interoffice telephone calls and inquiries. Greet patients, obtain history from patients, start IV when appropriate, and ready the patient for scan.
- Obtain Patient Information: Obtain lab work and other necessary patient information from Cerner.
- Schedule CT Scan Exams: Schedule CT Scan exams from the Cerner imaging queue, ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Update Patient Status: Update patient status in the RIS to indicate exam completion.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- ARRT Certification: ARRT, or registry eligible, must take registry within first 45 days of employment.
- Healthcare Provider BLS Certification: Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.
- CT Scanner Training: Training specific to the operation and performance of CT scanners.
- WA State Radiologic Technologist Licensure: Current WA State Radiologic Technologist licensure.
We prefer candidates with:
- 1 Year of Experience in Radiology: 1 year of experience in a radiology setting.
- Registered in CT Technology: Registered in CT Technology with ARRT within one year of employment.
