Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Personal Banker I to join our team at Farmers and Merchants State Bank. As a Personal Banker I, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, building strong relationships, and promoting our bank's products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide personalized banking services to customers, including opening deposit accounts, processing transactions, and educating customers about our bank's products and services.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their financial needs and goals, and referring them to appropriate products and services.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our bank's products and services, including deposit accounts, loans, and investments.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years of retail banking experience preferred.
  • Skills: Basic math and computer skills, working knowledge of banking/financial products and services, cash-handling experience, excellent communication and customer service skills, and ability to pass a background check.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver's License, Personal Banker Certificate, and Notary Public Commission.

  • Job Knowledge: Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, and maintains job knowledge current.
  • Productivity: Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, and handles information flow.
  • Attendance: Employee is expected to adhere to the attendance and break policy and communicate with your supervisor about anticipated time off or modifications to break times.
