Job Summary:

Marotta Controls, Inc. is seeking a skilled Assembly and Test Technician to join our team in Chaska, MN. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for processing and assembling electromechanical products for Power and Actuation Systems brushless dc motor applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and assist in the assembly and test of production hardware and subassemblies, following mechanical drawings, work instructions, routings, and written specifications.
  • Solder, crimp, and assemble critical electronic systems.
  • Operate tools and equipment, including standard hand tools, load testing devices, micrometers, depth mics, calipers, and microscopes.
  • Setup and operate equipment for building and testing, including multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, torque wrenches, dynamometers, load cells, etc.
  • Assist with testing equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Conduct function testing, troubleshoot, rework, and document results fully and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate parts and part count documentation for each job.
  • Identify causes for test failures and perform requested rework with limited supervision.
  • Document and support Lean ideas to improve company efficiencies.
  • Assist in packaging hardware according to ESD procedures.
  • Maintain all hand tools in clean working condition.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment requiring repair.
  • Properly handle and dispose of chemicals used, utilizing proper PPE as required.
  • Identify any routings discrepancies and notify supervisor for necessary changes.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and ability to conduct functional tests.
  • Ability to understand and work with blueprint drawings.
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow procedures.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills for interacting with all levels of personnel.
  • Computer literate, with MS Office experience and basic PC skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Work Environment:
  • Exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including fluids, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise, and vibration.
  • Constant exposure to abrasive chemicals.
  • This position interacts in both professional office and manufacturing/machine shop environments.
  • Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
  • This is a full-time position, with overtime and weekend work possible as job duties demand.
  • Some travel may be required for this position (5-10%).
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand at length, sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility.
  • May be required to lift, push, pull, and/or move items weighing up to 45 pounds.
