Healthcare Registrar

The Healthcare Registrar serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth registration process. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Registers patients by verifying demographic information, insurance coverage, and securing necessary documents
- Adheres to quality and productivity standards, ensuring accurate and efficient registration processes
- Collects prepayment for services and reconciles cash drawers
- Works effectively in various Patient Access areas, including clinics, hospitals, and emergency departments
- Follows policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
- Interacts with patients, families, and healthcare staff to provide excellent customer service
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare or business setting
- High school diploma or equivalent, with post-secondary education or certification in business, computers, or office management
- Ability to work in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of insurance and third-party payers, patient billing, and accounts processes
- Proficiency in using remote terminals, electronic health records, and web-based applications
