Title: Assistant Professor of Biology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor of Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses, conducting innovative biological research, and contributing to the development of our research program.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in biology, including lectures, laboratories, and seminars
- Conduct innovative biological research and publish research findings in reputable scientific journals
- Develop and maintain a strong research program with potential for extramural funding
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum changes and program improvements
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and advising students
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Biology or a related field
- Postdoctoral research experience in a relevant area
- Strong teaching and research skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and colleagues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation
- Strong background in molecular mechanisms of biological processes
- Experience with grant writing and securing extramural funding
