Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to residents as ordered by physicians, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Perform treatments on minor skin conditions as prescribed by physicians.
  • Manage and maintain locked medication carts and medication keys according to facility policy.
  • Monitor and care for catheters, ensuring resident comfort and safety.
  • Document all medications and treatments given in the medication record and nurses' notes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect residents' rights and privacy at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the staff nurse or designee.

Qualifications:

  • Certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
  • Completed a state-approved training program in medication administration and hold current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health.
  • Thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
  • High school diploma or GED.
