Position Overview:

The Trainee Prosthetic Specialist will engage in a comprehensive 120-hour training program under the guidance of a certified fitter while initiating studies for the ABC certification examination. All necessary study materials and training resources will be provided. The Trainee will also acquire skills in gathering essential documentation, including office notes and prescriptions, as well as performing data entry and confirming sales orders. Upon successful certification, the Trainee's performance will be assessed for advancement into the Prosthetic Fitter role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred:

+ Two (2) years of experience in customer service

+ Experience in healthcare or non-profit sectors

+ Background in retail customer interactions

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to the essential job functions outlined below, employees are expected to complete all required educational assignments on time as per DNV standards, Bozeman Health policies, and other registry mandates.

+ Assists patients in fitting mastectomy prosthetics.

+ Maintains accurate patient records and billing, participates in DME meetings, and ensures compliance through audits.

+ Manages product orders and receipts.

+ Conducts patient follow-ups and maintains cleanliness in the Care Boutique as needed.

Physical Requirements:

+ Lifting (Rarely 30 pounds): Occasionally exerts force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects or individuals.

+ Sitting (Continuously): Maintains a seated position for extended periods, adjusting posture as necessary to prevent discomfort.

+ Standing (Occasionally): Maintains a standing position for extended periods, adjusting posture as necessary.

+ Walking (Occasionally): Requires good balance and coordination while moving within the work area.

+ Climbing (Rarely): Involves ascending or descending ladders, stairs, or ramps using feet and legs.

+ Twisting/Bending/Stooping (Occasionally): Requires flexibility and a wide range of motion in the spine and joints.

+ Reaching Above Shoulder Level (Occasionally): Involves lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects above shoulder height.

+ Pushing/Pulling (Occasionally): Involves exerting force against objects with steady pressure.

+ Fine-Finger Movements (Continuously): Engages in tasks requiring dexterity, such as typing or handling small objects.

+ Vision (Continuously): Requires close visual acuity for data analysis and reading various materials.

+ Cognitive Skills (Continuously): Involves learning new tasks, remembering processes, maintaining focus, and making timely decisions.

Exposures:

Job tasks may involve exposure to:

+ Bloodborne pathogens, including blood and bodily fluids.

+ Radiation in medical imaging environments.

+ Various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings.

+ Infectious diseases due to patient contact in potentially contagious environments.
