Key Responsibilities- Provide general front and back office support to professional staff, including escorting patients to exam rooms and maintaining clean, neat, and well-stocked exam rooms.
- Take a proactive approach to utilizing available resources to best serve the patient population.
- Perform a variety of clerical support duties, including receptionist, telephone, scheduling, message management, and data input.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, escort patients to the examining room, obtain a brief history, document chief complaint, take vital signs, and prep the patient for exam.
- Assist the physician/clinician on exams and any special procedures, including administering and recording injections and TB testing under the supervision and order of the physician.
- Perform venipuncture and obtain specimens, perform CLIA waived lab tests, and perform office procedures, including but not limited to, PFT, UDS, EBT, EKG, fit testing, within the scope of practice as directed by provider.
- Receive telephone calls from patients, pharmacy, and others, document and relay information to provider for action, and phone pharmacy with approved medication orders/refills.
- Perform a variety of front office duties as needed, including but not limited to, reception, telephone, chart maintenance, insurance forms, and scheduling.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Completion of a MA training program Required
- Licenses and Certifications: Completion of an approved training program OR completion of an unapproved training program and successfully passes the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute as described by the Arizona Administrative Code (Chapter 16 – Arizona Medical Board - R and R OR completes a United States Armed Forces medical services training program Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) BLS Required
- Fingerprint Clearance Card - State Have a current Fingerprint Clearance card, or within seven (7) working days after employment shall apply and be eligible for a Fingerprint Clearance Card (Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites ONLY) Required
