About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer systems
  • Inspect and repair standard components, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubricating and cleaning equipment
  • Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay: $29.50 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter, four times per year
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
  • Monday-Friday schedule, weekends off
  • Third shift: 12:00 am - 8:30 am
