Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough safety inspections at construction sites to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Investigate safety incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide training and mentorship to site personnel on safety practices to cultivate a culture of safety.
- Act as the primary contact for safety-related inquiries, collaborating with regulatory bodies and internal teams.
- Assess potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Cal-OSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Proven track record in conducting safety inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong understanding of injury and illness prevention principles.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of training and guiding others.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent is advantageous.
