About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead our team in developing and optimizing our personalized video recommendation engine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Define the overall architecture of the content recommender system, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Drive rapid iteration without compromising quality, working closely with infrastructure engineers to build robust machine learning infrastructure to support the recommender system.
  • Decision-Making and Evaluation: Evaluate the technical tradeoffs in key decision-making processes to ensure optimal outcomes, conducting A/B testing and analyzing performance metrics to continuously improve the recommender system.
  • Technical Excellence: Perform design and code reviews to raise the technical excellence bar.
Requirements
  • Machine Learning Expertise: Deep understanding of machine learning approaches, algorithms, and their application to recommender systems.
  • Team Leadership: Experience setting the direction for teams focused on developing online ranking and recommendation models.
  • Management and Mentorship: Strong management and mentorship skills, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage and solve ambiguous problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Real-Time Recommendation Systems: Experience with real-time recommendation systems.
  • Large-Scale Machine Learning Frameworks: Experience working with large-scale machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffe2, PyTorch, Spark ML, scikit-learn, or related frameworks.
  • Distributed Systems: Experience working with distributed systems.
  • Machine Learning and System Designs: Experience working with machine learning, ranking infrastructures, and system designs.
  • Continuous Learning: Ability to proactively learn new concepts and apply them at work.
