Youth Sports and Fitness Director

The Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Athletics & Aquatics Manager to lead the planning, development, and implementation of sports, fitness, recreation, and aquatic programs for youth. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in youth development, program management, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation: Plan, develop, and implement sports, fitness, recreation, and aquatic programs that meet the needs of youth and align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, and manage a team of youth development professionals and volunteers to deliver programs and services.
- Program Evaluation and Quality Assurance: Monitor program participation, attendance, and registration to ensure maximum enrollment and evaluate program effectiveness to inform future improvements.
- Marketing and Outreach: Work with the development team to create marketing materials, including registration forms, flyers, and social media messages, to promote programs and services.
- Grant Compliance and Reporting: Ensure grant compliance by collecting data, measuring outcomes, and reporting on program effectiveness.
- Training and Professional Development: Complete a minimum of 20 hours of training annually related to job responsibilities.
- Community Engagement: Establish relationships with local schools, community organizations, and vendors to promote programs and services.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure program areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained, and that facilities and equipment meet state and local codes and licensing requirements.
- Emergency Preparedness: Ensure all emergency operation plan policies are enforced at all times.
- Education: A four-year college degree from an accredited college in a related youth development field.
- Experience: Minimum of five years' experience working at a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development agency.
- Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of principles related to youth development, group leadership skills, and an understanding of group dynamics. Experience in planning, organizing, and supervising camp programs, as well as managing budgets and controlling expenses.
- Certifications: Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO), CPR, and First Aid Certification required. Lifeguard, Lifeguard Trainer, and Basic Swimming Instructor Certification preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both oral and written, required.
This position requires work best described as medium, with continuous standing, walking, bending, and stooping. The ability to receive information through oral communication and express ideas through the spoken word is also required.
