Job Title: Senior Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Robert H. Jenkins State Domiciliary Veterans' Home in Lake City, Florida.

Job Summary:

The Senior Licensed Practical Nurse will provide high-quality patient care to our residents, ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor and provide interventions to meet the needs of residents
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's current status
  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other supportive caregivers
  • Provide administrative support through established nursing standards, individualized care plans, and interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Coordinate shift assignments and provide supervision to team members
  • Assist with all aspects of resident care, treatments, and self-administration of medications
  • Coordinate medical appointments and spend time in social interactions with residents
  • Report resident concerns and needs promptly to the appropriate team member
  • Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health-related tasks
  • Follow Resident's Rights policies and maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family members, facility staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers
  • Document services and care plan outcomes appropriately within the facility software/database
  • Participate in staff development and orientation of new personnel
  • Attend all in-service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings
Requirements:
  • Licensure in Florida as a Practical Nurse
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Effective communication skills in English (reading, speaking, and writing)
  • Ability to work 11:30pm-8:00am shifts
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II background check and drug test
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience in long-term care or 120-bed skilled nursing facilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records

The Robert H. Jenkins State Domiciliary Veterans' Home is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located in Lake City, Florida. The facility provides a supportive and respectful environment for our residents, with a focus on quality care and compassion.
