Key Responsibilities

  • Administer federal, state, and local financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Process and verify student aid applications, including initial applications, renewal applications, corrections, payments, and reporting.
  • Counsel students and parents on financial aid programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with the Business Office to ensure timely payment disbursements and with the Admissions and Registrars offices to verify student information.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely data input and retrieval.
  • Attend state and federal financial aid meetings to stay current on regulations and procedures.
  • Assist with workshops and provide mid-term and end-of-year reports to the Director of Financial Aid.
  • Audit student financial aid accounts and perform adjustments and reconciliations as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business, accounting, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One year of experience in a business, financial aid, or educational setting required; three years preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented, possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and work well under pressure.

Work Environment

  • Works in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, with some walking, standing, and bending required.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work environment can be stressful at times, with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
