Job Title: Embryologist I

Job Summary:

The Embryologist I will work in a collaborative relationship with the Laboratory Director and/or Supervisor and other team members, as well as with other department employees. This position is responsible for performing high-quality IVF laboratory medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently handles embryology processes including egg retrievals, embryo transfers, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, Assisted Hatching, sperm preparation, embryo culturing, embryo evaluation and monitoring, cryopreservation of embryos, eggs and sperm, biopsy for Preimplantation Genetics Testing and lab processes associated with IVF urology procedures (TESE/MESA).
• Participate in Laboratory Operations as directed.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and departmental records and filing clinical documents.
• Must demonstrate an aptitude for performance of laboratory services.
• Must demonstrate good work ethic with motivation for learning laboratory procedures.
• Aptitude to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
• Knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, reproductive Biology or Animal Science.
• 0-2 years of prior experience in a human IVF laboratory preferred.
• Ability to participate with a schedule that includes rotating weekends.
