Job Title: Flex HSA/RSA

Job Summary:

The Flex HSA/RSA is a vital member of our team at Dallas Retirement Village, providing exceptional care and support to our residents. As a Health Services Assistant/Medication Aide, you will be responsible for administering medications, insulin, eye drops, nose sprays, creams, and CBG checks, as well as assisting with personal care and daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications, insulin, eye drops, nose sprays, creams, and CBG checks
  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities, including toileting, bathing, and dressing
  • Monitor residents' health and report any unusual observations or conditions to management staff
  • Participate in staff training and development, and maintain required certifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • One year elderly experience preferred, but not required
  • Adequate reading and writing skills, as well as verbal communication skills, to perform required documentation and reporting duties

Working Conditions:

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; may be exposed to blood and body fluids which may contain HIV and/or HBV; must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair or shower chair, pushing up to 150 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to transfer, lift, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 125 lbs. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the work day. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
