Position Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering exceptional patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients in accordance with established clinical standards and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care delivery.

The Surgical Day Care Nurse is responsible for managing patient care during both the preoperative and postoperative phases.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; BSN preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts is required
  • BLS certification is mandatory
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within three months of hire
  • PALS or ENPC certification is required within three months of hire
  • One to three years of medical/surgical experience is required, along with one year of critical care experience
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential
  • Additional unit-specific education and experience requirements will be provided in the Addendum for each unit.
