Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Applied Data Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our data science team, you will help build predictive models and analytical solutions for business end-users to drive informed decision-making. Your expertise in machine learning, data manipulation, and visualization will enable you to collaborate with development teams to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured data for discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with development teams to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured data for data discovery and mining.
  • Build high-end analytic models using supervised and unsupervised learning models to support decision-makers with data-driven insights.
  • Create informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships.
  • Utilize machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, and/or advanced statistics to deliver projects.
  • Prototype solutions using varied resources, including commercial and open-source software.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working in healthcare.
  • 6+ years of experience utilizing machine learning models.
  • History of delivering data science projects, including data discovery, modeling, and application integration.
  • Experience leading data science projects, including resource allocation, project estimation, and mentoring other staff members.
  • Ability to facilitate converting business needs into technical projects.
  • Experience using R and Python to program machine learning models.
  • Experience using SQL to extract data from databases.
  • Knowledge of deploying models and reports into cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Ability to visualize data and model results using a modern BI tool (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning modeling techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, and NLP) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present results to teams of people, including executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Strong mentoring capabilities.
