Job Summary

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing repairs and servicing on a variety of vehicles, including sedans, light, medium, and heavy trucks, trailers, and specialized heavy equipment. This role encompasses a range of essential functions, ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our fleet.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and repairs on boom and pedestal assemblies, including troubleshooting and testing equipment.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, ensuring optimal performance of pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders.
  • Diagnose and service heating and ventilation systems, including A/C units, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance of winch assemblies and steering systems, ensuring reliability and safety.
  • Service air brake systems, hydraulic and electric braking systems, and inspect various vehicle components for functionality.
  • Perform inspections and repairs on differentials, transmissions, and fuel and exhaust systems, maintaining high standards of performance.
  • Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical issues and collaborate with team members to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Document maintenance activities and submit reports as required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the fleet operations.
  • Participate in training programs and assist in the development of fellow team members.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.

Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in automotive mechanical diagnosis, with a strong background in hydraulic and diesel repair. Completion of an automotive trade school program with diesel engine experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: A valid state driver's license is mandatory. Candidates must obtain a Class A CDL and relevant certifications within specified timeframes.

Additional Expectations:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in vehicle maintenance fundamentals and mechanics.
  • Familiarity with computer systems utilized in fleet services is essential.
  • Willingness to meet qualifications necessary for advancement within the organization.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at heights and maneuver around large vehicles and equipment.
  • Frequent use of hand tools and heavy equipment, with the capacity to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Capability to work in various positions, including standing, walking, and operating machinery.
