Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at UNC Health Care. This full-time position is in a specialty area of lymphedema and oncology rehabilitation, requiring a strong background in patient care and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Testing: Administer basic and complex diagnostic tests and evaluations to diagnose and treat mobility disorders and related impairments.
  • Education and Supervision: Teach and supervise graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents, developing innovative programs to enhance patient care.
  • Evaluation of Care: Analyze results of diagnostic and therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and modify subsequent treatment programs, identifying expected patient outcomes and communicating relevant information to promote continuity of care.
  • Implementation: Select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services, providing habilitation/rehabilitation and maintenance of persons with mobility-related impairments.
  • Outreach and Community Involvement: Serve as a resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty areas, presenting at local or state level, participating in community health screening and events, and developing new clinical programs to meet emerging needs.
  • Participation and Quality: Contribute to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings and in-services, maintaining valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina, with BLS certification.
  • Professional Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
