Fleet Maintenance Specialist

Forsyth County, NC is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our General Services Department, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of County vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and diagnose vehicle issues to determine the need for repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and recommend repairs
  • Work with emergency and non-emergency vehicles of all types, adhering to policies and procedures set forth by General Services
  • Operate a wrecker to retrieve disabled or wrecked County vehicles
Requirements:
  • Completion of a one-year technical school program in automotive repair or equivalent experience
  • At least two years of responsible automotive repair work on a variety of vehicles
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a NC Vehicle Inspection license within 60 days of employment
  • ASE certifications preferred
Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with on-call work as needed
