Froedtert South is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist to join our team at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate technical expertise in all cardiac catheterization procedures, functioning in a primary role as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician or Hemodynamic Recorder.
- Cardiac Structure Identification: Consistently and correctly identify cardiac structures, coronary vasculature, and associated disease processes.
- Radiation Safety: Practice radiation safety and observe all principles to ALARA.
- Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately report Ejection Fraction by demonstrating proficiency in the assessment of Cardiac function, utilizing Left Ventricular Analysis program(s).
- Procedure Documentation: Verify the presence of all components of procedure information in both hard copy and computerized formats.
- Contrast Administration: Administer contrast safely and in accordance with policy and procedure and within scope of service.
- Equipment Operation: Operate all healthcare (imaging and non-imaging) equipment, consistent with applicable licensure, required to provide patient care and treatments administered in the Interventional Procedure Labs and locations outside the department as needed for procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in activities associated with quality assurance, performance improvement, Data base recording and reporting, maintaining compliance with all associated accreditation programs.
- Patient Education: Participate in patient teaching/education.
- Emergency Response: Recognize the occurrence of life-threatening situations and emergencies and take the appropriate actions in a timely manner.
- Education: Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) with ability to take the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exam.
- Licensure: Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.).
- Certifications: Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates technical proficiency for all cardiac catheterization procedures while functioning in a primary role as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician or Hemodynamic Recorder. Consistently and correctly identifies cardiac structures, coronary vasculature, and the associated disease processes.
