Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Moline. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and preserving public safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations as assigned or requested by citizens.
  • Patrol designated areas to protect life and property, prevent and discover criminal acts, and enforce laws and ordinances.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, other law enforcement agencies, and the judiciary through various means.
  • Cooperate in the adjudication of criminal, traffic, or civil cases by providing testimony or evidence.
  • Develop and maintain public contacts and confidential sources to gather information on suspected criminal activity.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other agencies.
  • Provide presentations and lectures to the public on various aspects of police service, public safety education, and community programs.
  • Communicate information on criminal activity or problems to relevant divisions, sections, or supervisors within the police department and other agencies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to complete the Illinois Local Governmental Law Enforcement Officers Training Board Basic Recruit Training.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Good social and general intelligence.
  • Skill in the use of firearms.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships.
