Position Overview:
The Breast Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a range of technical tasks related to both screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.

This role involves utilizing advanced X-ray technology to capture images of breast tissue and collaborating with radiologists to analyze the findings.

The Breast Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer, significantly enhancing the likelihood of effective treatment and survival.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Conducts various operations involving mammographic imaging equipment and related devices as necessary.
+ Provides clear explanations of the mammography process to patients, addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
+ Positions patients appropriately, employing immobilization techniques when required.
+ Determines exposure parameters and assists physicians as needed.
+ Executes quality control measures pertinent to mammography.
+ Reviews radiographs for diagnostic integrity, obtaining additional images when necessary.
+ Prepares and organizes medical supplies using aseptic methods when applicable.

Maintains clear communication with patients throughout the procedure and prior to initiation.
+ Develops mammography films and ensures they are matched with the corresponding documentation for interpretation.
+ Aids in the maintenance and collection of statistical data.
+ Complies with all Amergis and workplace policies, rules, and procedures.
+ Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Valid State License or Certification in the state of employment.
+ A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technician is preferred.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients.
+ Adheres to all relevant professional standards of practice.
+ Completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
+ Current CPR certification if required.
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray as applicable.
+ Current Health certificate in accordance with contract or state regulations.
+ Must fulfill all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the job site.
+ Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
+ Ability to effectively communicate information to and from relevant individuals (including supervisors, colleagues, and clients) using strong communication skills; proficiency in English is essential.
+ Computer proficiency is required.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
