Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Assistant to join our team. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care, resulting in the best clinical outcomes and meeting the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preoperative and Postoperative Duties: Perform duties to facilitate patient care, including verifying patient identity and operative sites.
  • Surgical Support: Assist surgeons during surgery by performing tasks such as tissue retraction, intravenous lines, and completing documentation.
  • Aseptic Technique: Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
  • Operative Field Management: Maintain an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning and irrigating equipment.
  • Equipment and Supply Management: Determine availability of necessary equipment and supplies for operative procedures.
  • Quality Control: Obtain and inspect sterile and non-sterile surgical equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Patient Care: Monitor patient intraoperative status and obtain dental radiographs and dental imaging.
  • Documentation: Complete patient clinical narratives.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications: BLS certification required or the ability to complete within 1 month of hire.
  • Experience: At least one year of related experience preferred.
  • Skills: Basic computer knowledge, ability to work well in a team, good judgment, and critical thinking skills.
