Job Description Summary

This position serves as a key leader in the Real Estate Capital Construction Program, responsible for overseeing the development and administration of capital construction program plans to ensure alignment with company strategy. The successful candidate will lead a team of integrated individuals to meet program objectives, driving business growth and success.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer capital construction program plans, ensuring consistent alignment with company strategy.
  • Provide support for project-level activity, including project analysis, scheduling, development, and execution in accordance with overall project governance requirements and policy & procedure.
  • Assist in the leadership and management of day-to-day operations of the Construction Services Remodel/Renovation program.
  • Manage project budgets aligned with overall plan.
  • Report project and overall program status to Enhancement Leadership.
  • Gather key information from project teams to monitor project schedules and ensure plan attainment. Manage multiple schedules simultaneously.
  • Monitor established project guidelines, set goals, and measure team performance, reporting project and overall program status to leadership and senior management.
  • Accountable for decisions that impact project scope, timeline, and budget. Serve as a methodology advisor to business leaders.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly status reports on capital projects and special project efforts.
  • Develop and implement annual enhancement plans.
  • Represent the Segment on the Incident Management Team - Code D project management efforts.
  • Provide feedback and direction in the development and implementation of process improvement steps to increase efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Oversee all aspects of existing unit rebuild development projects through pre-design, design, construction execution, and turn-over.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of construction management experience, preferably in the restaurant industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio (as applicable).
  • Proficiency in Workday (as applicable).
  • Ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate decisions while motivating assigned staff.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
Professional Certification:
  • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Construction Management Association of America Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification preferred.
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements:
  • Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs.
  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally both locally and long distances (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, submit to releasing a Motor Vehicle Record that adheres to the Whataburger standards, and maintain current automobile liability at minimum levels in their state of residence.
