Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

Lancaster General Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Your expertise will be essential in preparing and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for our patients and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of patient care by handling instruments during operative procedures.
  • Prepare, process, and arrange surgical instruments and supplies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Utilize techniques of infection control and monitor personnel for compliance with aseptic techniques and safety standards.
  • Function as an instrument handler on all types of surgical procedures, adhering to specific sterile and aseptic techniques and procedures.
  • Secure, set up, and prepare Operating Room equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Anticipate and supply the surgeon's needs for instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Identify emergency situations and respond in a calm and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or completion of a surgical military training program (Army, Navy, or Air Force).
  • CPR Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of Operating Room scrub experience.
