About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Extrusion Manufacturing Engineer II to join our Cardiac Rhythm Management division in Plymouth, MN. As a key member of our team, you will design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
  • Evaluate production equipment and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Provide production support and process validation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance quality, labor efficiency, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and support quality management systems.
  • Comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and operating procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Biomedical, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on extrusion and tooling.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting equipment and performing machine and process set-ups.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience required; previous medical device experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
